The Chinese Zodiac has a 12-year cycle based on the lunar calendar. The Zodiac (‘birth likeness’) is represented by twelve different animals, with their own astrological meanings and personalities. The new lunar year is from1st Feb 2022 until the 22nd Jan 2023. It is the year of the White Tiger. What will the year of Zodiac Tiger bring in general? The Tiger, as the Tai Sui (Master of the year), has additional commitments and duties this year. In ancient times, many wise nations followed the planets, stars and the lunar calendar, especially for agriculture. The cosmic Jupiter is a planetary star that orbits the Sun for a full year of 365 days. Then follows it again, year after year. Lapis Lazuli has maintained its reputation as a first-class jade material. The colour resonates dark blue, purple blue, sky blue and green blue. The pure blue is reminiscent of the ocean, the sky, the universe, and calmness. Top grade lapis lazuli is dark blue and pure in colour with a fine texture, with no cracks, no white impurities (calcite), no pyrite and with a beautiful gold star. The natural lapis lazuli has a deep and solemn colour, the golden star is brilliant, and there are no bubbles in the substance, while one can quickly identify an artificial lapis lazuli (one smelted with glass mixed with copper powder and mica powder) because its colour is not as beautiful as natural lapis lazuli. Looking after your Lapis Lazuli Lapis Lazuli is composed of a mixture of various minerals. There are inevitably cracks and crevices in the crystals. Therefore one must be additionally careful when wearing it to avoid bumps or squeezing and prevent it coming into contact with water or high temperatures. Natural lapis lazuli has different shades of colour. This is a unique beauty. The beautiful colour may fade in high temperatures or exposed to the hot sun in high heat environments. There are two degaussing methods: 1) Mix fine Omori salt and mineral water into a cup or bowl, use a cloth and degauss the Lapis Lazuli daily for one month. 2) Use special large-grained degaussing salt; bury the lapis lazuli in the degaussing salt for three months at a time. Alternatively, on can degauss using sea chrysanthemums; put the lapis lazuli in the centre of sea chrysanthemums and the demagnetization can be completed within 24 hours. Note: Lapis lazuli is a granular aggregate composed of a variety of minerals, if soaked and washed with water, the dirt on the surface of the gem will penetrate into the interior, which will change the original brilliance of the lapis lazuli. The story of this pearl necklace: 30 years ago this necklace was given as a present from a best friend. It has been treasured and frequently worn and when it broke the lady brought the necklace to us. Realising how precious and frequently worn it is, and noting the awkwardness of the clasp for fingers that are aging, we recommended replacing the gold plated clasp with a sterling silver magnetic one, and replacing the polyester thread with silk thread, which is finer but stronger. The silk threads are very fine and were sophistically knotted, one by one, between each pearl. The holes on the pearls were individually controlled and cleaned. During the re-threading onto the silk thread they were reorganised to ensure the perfect balance of weight so it is comfortable on the neck and shows off the pearls to their best advantage. The result was Quality and Art ... restored with love and positive energy.
